Dominik Mysterio Bags Mainstream Crown Outside WWE

Dominik Mysterio WWE

Dominik Mysterio continues to impress in and out of WWE.

While confronting John Cena a couple of weeks ago on RAW, the self-proclaimed “King of the Luchadores” claimed not to be at his peak, yet being better than the 48-year-old.

Mysterio’s growing popularity with the fans is hard to miss, just like the quality of matches he puts on the Stamford promotion or AAA, for that matter.

As one of the top heels in the company, he has managed to tick off multiple individuals at the same time—try John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Penta, and Rey Fenix.

He will be next seen at Survivor Series: WarGames, where he will try to reclaim the Intercontinental Championship from Cena.

There were reports about him defending his AAA Mega Championship against his father at AAA’s Guerra de Titanes event on December 20.

However, it was recently confirmed that he and El Grande Americano would face The Lucha Brothers (Penta & Rey Fenix) on December 20. With Penta sustaining an injury on RAW, it remains to be seen if the tag team match goes ahead as planned.

Meanwhile, Dominik Mysterio has accomplished a unique feat outside WWE.

Dominik Mysterio Tops ESPN List

Dominik Mysterio was recently featured at the top of ESPN’s “30 Best Pro Wrestlers Under 30” list for a second consecutive year.

The site stated that his dual-title win (Intercontinental Championship and AAA Mega Championship), coupled with his spectacular heel gimmick, made him a clear winner.

Mysterio’s former beau, Rhea Ripley, also appears on the list due to her continued show of dominance in the promotion.

Roxanne Perez, meanwhile, jumped into the top 10 from last year’s #24 spot. A few other WWE superstars on the list are Bron Breakker, Blake Monroe, Tiffany Stratton, and Oba Femi.

Kyle Fletcher and MJF from AEW also appear on the list, with TNA’s Leon Slater wrapping up the top 10.
