What does the future hold for Drew McIntyre?

Despite his contract ending within weeks, Drew McIntyre’s future remains uncertain. As recently as March 27th it was reported the Scottish star is yet to make a decision, but there is an expectation that a deal will be made. But as wrestling has shown for decades, until the contract is signed, nothing can be guaranteed.

At WrestleMania 40, McIntyre will challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title, while he’s also been waging a verbal war with CM Punk. Again, more hints that he’ll remain with WWE.

Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed that McIntyre hasn’t signed a contract yet, but nobody expects him to leave.

“Regarding McIntyre, he isn’t signed yet but obviously his gamble on waiting seems to have paid off because he’s more valuable now than he was months ago. Nobody expects him to leave given he’s on the best run of his career from a creative standpoint and business is so strong. He himself is obviously working hard setting up angles that will require him to stay.

I know the expectation in the company is he’s signing a new deal and the feeling he knows given everything staying is the best thing for his career now.”

Triple H Comments On Drew McIntyre Speculation

The report comes after Triple H dismissed speculation that Drew McIntyre had been unhappy with his role in WWE. The Game was quick to praise the former World Champion, adding that he hopes he’ll remain with WWE for the rest of his career.

McIntyre returned to WWE in 2017 and went on to become a two-time World Champion.
