Does CM Punk Have A WWE Retirement Plan?
CM Punk has opened up on whether he has thought about retiring from WWE.
On April 19th, CM Punk will finally achieve his dream of main-eventing WrestleMania almost three decades after having his first match. Although he had a decade away from the squared circle after walking away from WWE in 2014, at the age of 46, the Voice of the Voiceless is likely closer to the end of his career than the beginning.
Speaking to Alistair McGeorge of Metro.co.uk, though, Punk admits he hasn’t given retirement much thought. Instead, the star pointed out that the world of pro wrestling is unpredictable, and the schedule now is much easier than when he started.
“No, because you never know what’s going to happen. If you would ask me when I was 26 if I would be wrestling when I was 46, I would have been like, ‘No way.’
“The business has changed so much, the miles that we put on our bodies for years and years and years, and now we’re here, and we’re wrestling maybe once a month, we’re doing one show a week.”
