Disbelief Backstage At Controversial Carlito Comment On WWE Raw

Carlito WWE

A controversial line from Carlito on Raw wasn’t scripted.

Carlito spent much of the October 21st episode of Raw getting into trouble with just about everyone. After laughing at Dominik Mysterio’s claims that he’ll be the man beat to Gunther, Raquel Rodriguez questioned why he’s even there.

At this, the veteran dubbed himself a”fixer” and then said he was off to fix things. Carlito then went and proposed Gunther vs. Mysterio to General Manager Adam Pearce who also laughed. After begging for the match, Pearce said he’d consider it if Mysterio could beat a former World Champion next week.

However, it was Carlito’s comments when he first approached Pearce that grabbed the headlines. At the time, Kairi Sane and IYO SKY were speaking Japanese, to which he said “I gotta learn Chinese.” A line many deemed offensive.

Both women are Japanese and SKY has previously been heckled by audience members telling her to go back to China. As reported by Fightful Select, the line has been edited out of all digital clips, with one staff member noting that it wasn’t scripted.

There was said to be disbelief at the comment, and many in the company weren’t happy it was used. Despite this, Fightful adds they haven’t heard of any heat on anyone for the situation, or action taken against anyone involved.

Carlito Heading For Judgment Day Exit

Ahead of Raw, it was reported that Carlito will likely be leaving Judgment Day soon to free him up for a singles run. It was suggested that there’s a feeling the group has become bloated since Raquel Rodriguez returned to action and joined forces with Liv Morgan.

“I think now, with the addition of Raquel Rodriguez to the Judgment Day, it started to get a little bit bloated…

So I think you’re going to see Carlito here in the next couple of weeks, sort of give the Judgment Day a reason to want to excommunicate him from the group. And I think he deserves a singles run.”

Carlito has wrestled just nine televised singles matches in 2024.
