Major Disappointment For WWE As Champions Reject Contract Offer

WWE Triple H

There’s some major bad news for WWE as they have been turned down after approaching a pair of champions elsewhere.

WWE never seems to tire in its hunt for new talent and currently has several stars who formerly competed in New Japan Pro Wrestling, not least Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Talla Tonga, who, alongside Solo Sikoa, make up the MFT group.

Speaking on the Self Made Session on YouTube, Self Made Pro claimed that WWE have made an approach for the current IWGP Tag Team Champions to further swell its ranks:

A source close to the situation claims that WWE has offered a contract to both Yuto-Ice and OSKAR, NJPW’s current IWGP Tag Team Champions. The Knock Out Brothers have turned heads and grabbed the attention of WWE scouts as the promotion is said to be looking to bolster their tag ranks.

However, it’s bad news for WWE.

WWE Knocked Out By The Knockout Brothers

Cory Hays of BodySlam has reported that the Knockout Brothers have “politely” rejected WWE’s multi-year offer. It is noted that neither Yuto-Ice nor OSKAR are currently looking to leave New Japan Pro Wrestling. His report comes after Yuto-Ice noted that they were not leaving NJPW following New Year’s Dash. WWE is believed to be monitoring the situation and has not ruled out a further approach in the future.
