Details On WWE Making Creative Team Changes
There has been a change behind the scenes in WWE’s creative team led by Triple H.
A report came out over the last week about how the WWE creative team is structured. The team is led by Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who is essentially the main booker who has final say on what happens on the WWE main roster.
In that report, by PWInsider Elite, it was noted that Bruce Prichard and Ed Koskey are tenured members of the creative team who work with Triple H to craft the stories. Under them, there’s a team of writers.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shared more about the creative team and some of the recent tweaks that were made.
“This is the current breakdown of creative. Paul Levesque drives the show. Bruce Prichard and Ed Koskey weigh in on creative but they also handle the company-wide distribution of information. Ryan Ward is in charge of handling all the creative pitches to Levesque.
Jonathan Baeckstrom and Alexandra Williams are the co-lead writers for Raw. John Swikata and Brian James (Road Dogg) are the co-lead writers of Smackdown. Ward has been picking up a lot of the slack on Smackdown. William Regal and Michael Hayes are also involved.
Nothing has really changed in the last few months on this except there were issues with Smackdown creative that have been said to now be improved, but it was said to be a minimal shakeup, basically a little push up for Ward and a little push down for Swikata and James.”
Triple H Is Excited About WWE’s Future
During a recent interview talking about the WWE roster, Triple H made the point that the talent underneath the top guys is very deep, and Hunter is excited about the future.
“The thing about it this year is, and I think you see it in the WrestleMania commercials, the field is wide open between a Brock Lesnar, between Roman, Punk, Cody, Seth is on the shelf right now but he factors into that.
That’s not even counting the new generations of the Bron Breakkers, the Bronson Reeds, the younger guys that are up and coming.
When people talk about the business now, and they talk about where our talent are at, the top players are all in top positions and they’re a bit older but the thickness and the depth of what is underneath them is what I’m most excited about because the field is deep, this business is going to be in good shape for a long time.”
As for Bruce Prichard, he shut down the rumors that there might be heat between The Game and him. Considering Prichard is a key member of WWE’s creative team, it seems like Triple H likes working with him, too.
