More details have come to light on a new WWE signing.

On August 2nd, Jacob Henry announced he’d signed a deal with WWE. Henry is the son of former World Champion and Hall of Famer Mark Henry.

Henry has enjoyed a fine athletic career to date, competing in football, wrestling, and track and field while at Lake Travis High School. Meanwhile, in more recent times, he’s committed to wrestling for the University of Oklahoma.

Mark Henry had previously stated that his son was aiming to main-event WrestleMania.

According to a new report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Henry has signed a NIL deal meaning he’ll be paid by WWE while attending college.

Regarding Jacob Henry, the deal he signed was an NIL deal meaning he’ll be paid by WWE while he goes to college. He’ll be on the University of Oklahoma wrestling team as a heavyweight which is one of the best programs in the country. He will also be trying out for the football team in the spring.

Mark Henry enjoyed a long association with the sports entertainment giant after signing with the company following the 1996 Olympic Games. Henry left the promotion in 2021 and quickly signed with AEW.

Since leaving AEW in May 2024, Mark Henry has begun working as a booker and director for All Caribbean Wrestling.
