Debut Imminent For New AEW Star?
There has been a major sign that AEW’s newest star could be set to debut in the ring in the very near future.
After losing an I Quit Match to Mike Santana at Genesis, Josh Alexander announced he was quitting TNA. This set up a storyline where Alexander was eventually written off television via a loss to Eric Young on the February 23 edition of Impact.
During this period, it was confirmed that Alexander was planning to let his contract expire before exploring his options in free agency. But it didn’t long for him to come to a decision.
Josh Alexander is believed to be AEW bound despite many thinking he could join his former tag team partner Ethan Page in NXT.
Josh Alexander To Debut In AEW’s Owen Cup?
On the April 2 edition of Dynamite, AEW announced the brackets for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament with several huge matches made. Jay White had to be pulled from the tournament and was replaced by Kevin Knight. Knight will face Ospreay in the first round and the winner of that bout will meet the winner of the match between Brody King and Konosuke Takeshita.
Mark Briscoe and Kyle Fletcher will face off while Hangman Adam Page will have to wait a while longer to find out his opponent as he faces a wild card. There have been suggestions from several fans that this wild card spot could be filled by Josh Alexander.
Both men’s and women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments will kick off at Dynasty with the finals set for Double Or Nothing in May.
