Dax Harwood Names His Terms For FTR To Stay In AEW
The future of the FTR duo of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood in AEW has been in doubt for some time and now Harwood has named his terms to stop the top guys being out.
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler had the year of their careers in 2022, at one point carrying the IWGP, ROH, and AAA Tag Team Champions as well as having a critically acclaimed feud with The Briscoes that led to a phenomenal trilogy of matches.
But by the end of the year, all the belts were lost and FTR were sitting home after being defeated by The Gunns. Harwood had previously indicated their AEW deals were up in April 2023 and despite the team making a shock return at Revolution to attack The Gunns, he has said this is still the case.
Speaking on the latest edition of his FTR podcast, Harwood has made it clear what he wants to see happen to re-sign with AEW and says the main event scene is where he wants to be:
“If we stick around in AEW after the thing with the Gunns is over with, we have to be presented as main event-level guys. We have to be presented as, no pun intended, top guys because if we don’t … the same thing that happened last year is gonna happen this year.”
“You look back to June or July, we were — and I’m saying this humbly — outside of [CM] Punk in AEW, and maybe Bryan [Danielson], and [Jon Moxley] as well … probably the hottest babyfaces in the company at the time. There were no angles for us, no storylines. We ended up having like between six and seven tag team matches on television all year.”
