The August 16th episode of Dynamite had some notable names backstage, including former WCW Champion David Arquette.

On August 16th, AEW Dynamite presented Fight for the Fallen in Nashville, TN in order to raise money for the Maui Food Bank after devastating wildfires in Hawai’i. The main event of the show saw The Young Bucks defeat The Gunns.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, multiple notable names were in attendance backstage during the show, and one of those names was former WCW World Heavyweight Champion and Scream star David Arquette. While Arquette’s reign as World Champion is heavily maligned, the star has a long history as a wrestling fan and began wrestling training in 2018. His documentary You Cannot Kill David Arquette chronicles his independent wrestling journey and features future AEW talent such as Colt Cabana, “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, and Ethan Page.

Who Was Backstage At AEW Dynamite Along With David Arquette?

In addition to Arquette, Fightful Select reports that CJ Perry (known as Lana in WWE) was also backstage in Nashville to visit her husband Miro as the couple owns a house in the area. Perry hasn’t made wrestling appearances since being released from WWE in 2021, though she was booked to wrestle Lina Fanene (the former Nia Jax) in Nottingham, England for the ill-fated Wrestling Entertainment Series before the event was rescheduled and ultimately cancelled.

Danielle Moinet, known to wrestling fans as Summer Rae in WWE, was also backstage at AEW Dynamite on August 16th. Moinet has made sporadic appearances since her WWE exit and took part in the 2022 Royal Rumble. She famously aligned with Miro to feud with Lana and Dolph Ziggler back in 2015, but the storyline was abruptly scrapped when Lana and Rusev announced their real-life engagement.

Thankfully, no cold fish were thrown at Fight for the Fallen, but the show did feature the debut of Leatherface in a bizarre Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch.
