Dave Meltzer Match Ratings 2025 WWE Royal Rumble
What did Dave Meltzer think of the 2025 Royal Rumble?
The Royal Rumble is one of the most anticipated nights on the WWE calendar, and the 2025 edition of the event was no different.
As usual, both Rumble matches were packed with surprises, returns from injury, and even the odd Hall of Famer thrown in for good measure. In the women’s Rumble match, Jordynne Grace made her official WWE debut, Trish Stratus and Nikki Bella returned to the ring, and Alexa Bliss ended a two-year hiatus to a monster ovation.
Meanwhile, the match was won by Charlotte Flair, who was making her first appearance in 13 months. The victory marked the end of an injury nightmare that began with the star suffering a major knee injury in a match in December 2023.
The men’s match saw surprise appearances from the popular streamer IShowSpeed and TNA World Champion Joe Hendry, while AJ Styles made his return from injury. In the end, Jey Uso claimed a memorable victory after eliminating pre-match favourite John Cena.
Elsewhere on the show, Cody Rhodes retained the Undisputed WWE Championship with a win over Kevin Owens in a wild Ladder Match, and #DIY retained the World Tag Team Titles after seeing off The Motor City Machine Guns in a Two out of Three Falls Match.
