Dave Meltzer Has Never Seen Any Better Than AEW Star

Will Ospreay has set the world on fire already in AEW after just one match as part of the company’s roster and Dave Meltzer says quite simply, he’s never seen better.

Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita stole the show at AEW Revolution as The Don Callis Family put on an instant classic. Ospreay picked up the win before going on to pick up the second as a part of the AEW roster a few days later on Dynamite when he defeated Kyle Fletcher.

Ospreay has made such a name for himself during his career mainly as a part of New Japan Pro Wrestling that he is the star that has the most matches rated five stars or above by Dave Meltzer – a metric that not everybody puts too much stock in but means a lot to some fans.

Dave Meltzer Says Nobody Better Than Will Ospreay

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that he’s never seen anybody better in the ring than Will Ospreay and says some WWE Hall of Famers have similar opinions:

More than today, I’ve never seen anybody better than him. It’s funny because I heard from [Ric] Flair and he didn’t say he was the greatest of all time but that he couldn’t believe what he saw.

He’s never said that to me about Kenny Omega who he’s seen and thinks is fantastic. Or anyone I can remember, not even Shawn [Michaels]. [Ricky] Steamboat I heard was the same way, this guy has got the chance to be the best bell-to-bell wrestler of all time.

Will Ospreay is now set for a massive dream match at AEW Dynasty when the English star will clash with The Blackpool Combat Club’s Bryan Danielson.
