What did Dave Meltzer make of the action at NXT Deadline?

At NXT Deadline, Oba Femi made a surprise return to the ring, making an instant impact.

The star had been absent since losing out to Tony D’Angelo at Halloween Havoc back in October, and there had even been reports he’d “said his goodbyes” backstage. However, his main roster call-up will have to wait.

At Deadline, Femi was a late replacement for Eddy Thorpe who was pulled out of the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge as the pre-show went live. This left the way clear for Femi to return and take the win, earning a shot at the NXT Title in the process.

In the main event, Giulia won the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenger to become the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Title. Both title matches are set to take place at New Year’s Evil on January 7th.

Elsewhere, there were wins for Lola Vice, Trick Williams, and Nathan Frazer & Axiom.
