Dave Meltzer Claims There’s No Point In WWE Star Staying In NXT

WWE NXT Ring

Dave Meltzer believes one NXT star should already be on WWE’s main roster.

Roxanne Perez signed with WWE in March 2022 after impressing during a try-out. After making her NXT debut that April, Perez became a fixture on the brand, tangling with many of the top names that it has to offer.

Perez won the Women’s Breakout Tournament, NXT Women’s Title, and NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles all before the end of the year.

In her most recent match, Perez defeated Kiana James in a Devil’s Playground match at Halloween Havoc.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said it was time for WWE to call the star up to the main roster. The veteran journalist explained that she’s everything the company has said they’re looking for.

“Roxanne Perez really needs to be on the main roster. The thing is, and it’s funny because Nick Khan has even said this – that they need to get younger on the main roster. And they do.

Perez is the perfect example because she’s like 21? (She turns 22 on November 5). They need people of that age on the main roster. A lot of the time the excuse is they’re not ready, but historically, younger people draw.

They have very few people (aged) 21 that are ready, and she’s completely ready, she can go with anyone, she’s got charisma.

She’s been in NXT long enough. There’s no point in her being in NXT.”

WWE Star Says NXT Isn’t Worth Their Time

While Roxanne Perez continues to star on NXT, Cora Jade remains absent. The star hasn’t wrestled on the show since July, and there’s no word on why she’s missing or when she’ll be back.

Posting on social media, Jade recently said she was fed up with fans asking when she was coming back to NXT because the brand “sucks.”
