Dave Bautista Confirms WWE Hall Of Fame Plans

Batista aka Dave Bautista

Dave Bautista will return to WWE.

After enjoying an in-ring career that saw him become a multi-time World Champion and clash with many of the biggest names wrestling had ever seen, Dave Bautista stepped away from the ring in 2019.

The star known to fans as Batista was then scheduled to go into the WWE Hall of Fame a year later, but the ceremony was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. By the time the 2020 and 2021 classes were inducted together, the now-Hollywood star was unable to attend.

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, confirmed he’d still like to be inducted.

“Eventually, I will. I want to. And there was a good opportunity for me to go in a couple of years ago, and I agreed to do it. Hunter (Triple H) asked me to do it. And I said, ‘Yeah, of course.’ And but it was here in LA, and I thought it was perfect. It was storybook, because I won my first title here in LA. We couldn’t figure it out because I was working on a film I was in South Africa, so logistically, we just couldn’t make it happen. But, yeah, I’m still open to it. One day I would like to.”

Dave Bautista Won’t Make In-Ring Return

Bautista hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Triple H at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. The wrestler-turned-actor personally requested the bout with his long-time friend, and saw it as a retirement match, even though this wasn’t acknowledged at the time.

During the same interview, Dave Bautista said he won’t be returning to the ring because he doesn’t want to tarnish that perfect ending.

I miss a crowd. I miss the energy of the crowd. I dream about walking out and hearing my entrance music, but I know if I do that, I will just tarnish my storybook ending, and I’m just not willing…..It’s always a temptation because I miss it, and every time I hear my music, I want that feeling again. It’s like a drug…..I just have to come to terms with my time has passed.”

Bautista is currently promoting his new movie TheKiller’s Game, also starring Drew McIntyre.
