Date Teased For Ex-WWE Star’s Return
A mystery is close to being solved in WWE as a date for an apparent reveal aired on SmackDown ahead of WrestleMania 41.
Mystery first began to build when SmackDown took place in Barcelona, as a 15-second video that featured a dark room with some smoke filling the screen aired. There was no person in the video, but there was the number 4 that appeared.
Since that first video, more teasers have aired hinting that someone is coming to SmackDown, and now it seems fans know exactly when that will happen.
SmackDown in Las Vegas saw the latest vignette air with smoke rising and flashing images appearing on the screen. At the end, the date 4.25.25 was shown – that is the date that the first SmackDown after WrestleMania 41 will take place, hinting that’s when the mystery will be revealed.
WWE Return Imminent For Ex-AEW Star?
However, many fans think they’ve already worked out the mystery as they believe the videos are teasing the WWE return of Aleister Black.
Aleister Black was released by WWE in 2021, and due to confusion over his contract status, Black was able to appear in AEW after just 30 days rather than the usual 90. Tony Khan might wish he hadn’t bothered, however, as Black’s time in AEW was dogged with speculation that he wanted a return to WWE following Vince McMahon’s downfall and Triple H’s rise to power.
Tony Khan finally released the star in early 2024 alongside other wantaway stars such as Miro and Ricky Starks. Ricky Starks has already emerged as a key part of NXT as Ricky Saints, while Miro is still expected to be back in WWE under his former name of Rusev at some point.
