Date Revealed For WWE Launch On Netflix
The tag team of WWE and Netflix will be launching in January 2025 on a specific date before the first Raw episode.
As the 2024 calendar year winds down with three months left to go, there is a lot of excitement among wrestling fans for the WWE deal with Netflix to begin this coming January.
The deal between WWE and Netflix starts in January 2025 and is reportedly worth $500 million per year and is set to run for 10 years, bringing the total value to a staggering $5 billion. There is also an option for Netflix to get out of the deal after five years while also having the right to extend the deal for another decade.
In addition to Monday Night Raw airing on Netflix for American viewers, the deal with Netflix will bring WWE’s flagship show to streaming in Canada, the UK, and Latin America. Most countries outside of the US will get other WWE shows on Netflix like Smackdown and NXT as well. Other unnamed territories and countries will see Raw move to Netflix over time.
During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Nia Jax made a comment noting that the international launch of WWE on Netflix will be on January 3rd, which is a few days before the January 6th episode of Raw that is the first Raw on Netflix. The date makes sense the first Smackdown of 2025 will be January 3rd, which means international users in countries like Canada, the UK and Latin America will watch Smackdown on Netflix.
“I mean, it is a whole different level of WWE. Nick Khan and Triple H have taken this company to the next level. It’s pretty incredible. We’re about to be in 80 percent of the world. Coming up in January, once — I just was told that technically, January 3rd is the international launch for WWE on Netflix, and then January 6th is here in the United States for Raw to go to Netflix. It’s gonna be huge.”
“That’s something that we’ve never had… Before, I’d be in the airports and I could definitely be forgettable or not noticed. But now I think every time we go somewhere, anywhere we are — we were in Half Moon Bay — we were just talking about it — we were in Half Moon Bay in some random, local coffee restaurant. They’re like, ‘It’s Tiffy Time!’ You know, and they’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s Nia Jax…’ We are so mainstream almost, which is kind of a cool thing, right? Even though we still feel very humbled. But, it’s very awesome.”
John Cena Returning For WWE Raw Debut Episode On Netflix
One of the big names expected to be on the first WWE Raw episode on Netflix on January 6th is the former 16-time World Champion and future Hall of Famer John Cena, who will likely be there to kick off his 2025 WWE retirement tour.
The rumored location for WWE Raw’s debut on Netflix on January 6th is the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, but it hasn’t been officially announced yet.
