Date Of John Cena’s Final WWE Match Reportedly Revealed
John Cena’s final day in the ring as an active pro-wrestler is steadily approaching.
The Champ kicked off his Farewell Tour in January 2025. Since then, he turned babyface at Elimination Chamber 2025, won the record-breaking 17th world championship at WrestleMania 41 by dethroning Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, lost the title, and turned babyface again at SummerSlam 2025.
Currently, he is in a storyline with Logan Paul, but it seems to be a filler creative angle before WWE can figure out his final opponent.
John Cena’s final match will be in mid-December
So far, it was known that The Leader of Cenation’s final match would be sometime in December 2025, but the actual date had not been revealed.
It so happens that WrestleVotes has reportedly revealed the date. As per the report, NBC is aiming to book December 13th as John Cena’s final match.
Initially, the plan was to have it on December 27th, 2025, to clash with AEW’s Worlds End, but NBC has an NFL commitment and does not want to compete with its programming.
If it’s December 13th, 2025, then John Cena’s final match will be at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Boston.
John Cena is not involved in picking his final opponent or the date of his final match. He has left the decision completely up to WWE. It so happens that WWE might be looking into reviving the rivalry between Brock Lesnar and John Cena for The Champ’s final run.

The Beast returned to the global juggernaut at SummerSlam 2025 when Cena was embracing the final moments of his last SummerSlam. Brock Lesnar F-5’d Cena and left the ring. So far, there have been no further developments for that storyline.
On the other hand, certain superstars such as Drew McIntyre and Gunther have revealed they would love to be in John Cena’s final match.
