John Cena’s Retirement Plans Confirmed
That news was quickly followed by a new report from Wrestle Votes, confirming that Cena’s last match will now take place in Washington, DC.
John Cena’s final match is set for Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th, live from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that John Cena could make his final appearance on SmackDown on September 5. Although this hasn’t been confirmed, it’s believed Cena will be viewed as a Raw Superstar until he retires.
Should the upcoming SmackDown in Chicago turn out to be Cena’s last, it will mean he made his first and last appearance for the blue brand at the same venue.
Brock Lesnar is expected to make his return to WWE on the same episode of SmackDown. He and Cena are expected to meet for the last time at Wrestlepalooza on September 20 after Lesnar attacked Cena at SummerSlam.
WWE is reportedly planning to stack Wrestlepalooza as it goes head-to-head with AEW All Out. As such, the company has pushed hard to get AJ Lee back in the ring after a decade away.
