Darby Allin’s “Insides Hanging Out” After Brutal AEW Match
Darby Allin has revealed that he was left with his insides falling out of him after this brutal spot in an AEW match.
Darby Allin has never been shy about pushing his body to the limit both in and out of the wrestling ring. Recently, fans have winced at his bloody battles with Jon Moxley, and it looks like things will get a whole lot worse when they clash in an I Quit match at WrestleDream.
Back in March 2024, Allin was part of Sting’s final match as those two men put their AEW Tag Team Title on the line against The Young Bucks. During that bout, Allin aimed a huge dive off a ladder towards the Bucks but ended up throwing himself through a pane of glass.
Darby Allin Duct Taped Together
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Allin explained the aftermath of that sickening landing and how a referee alerted him to the fact that he could see Allin’s insides:
My insides were hanging out. After I fell through the glass, the ref is looking at me like, ‘How do you feel?’ I’m like, ‘I’m feeling pretty good.’ He’s like, ‘Oh sh*t, your insides are hanging out, we’ve gotta bring you to the back.’
I’m like, ‘I can’t go to the back, this is Sting’s last match, I’ve got one more spot.’ So if you see me pop back up, I’m duct-taped. My side was completely duct-taped. Nothing ended up coming out but you could see the insides.
Sting and Darby Allin ultimately won that bout, sending Sting off into retirement undefeated during his iconic run in AEW.
