Darby Allin’s AEW WrestleDream Opponent Confirmed
Darby Allin won’t be challenging for the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream but now he knows he’ll be trying to settle one of his oldest rivalries instead.
It was back in July that Darby Allin came out on top in a Royal Rampage bout that guaranteed him a shot at the AEW World Title at Grand Slam in New York City. However, Allin ended up getting caught up in Blackpool Combat Club business.
Bryan Danielson won the AEW World Title at All In but at All Out he was viciously turned on by the BCC led by Jon Moxley who tried to suffocate Danielson with a plastic bag. Moxley wants to be the one to dethrone Danielson for the gold and challenged Darby Allin to face him with his title shot on the line instead at Grand Slam – a challenge Allin accepted.
Jon Moxley picked up the win meaning he will be the one to challenge Danielson at WrestleDream leaving Darby Allin at a very loose end.
Darby Allin Facing Brody King At WrestleDream
Allin issued an open challenge to anyone for the show in his home state of Washington and now someone very familiar to the former TNT Champion has answered the call.
The 5th of October edition of AEW Collision saw Darby Allin defeat Johnny TV before he reiterated that nobody had yet stepped up to accept his open challenge for WrestleDream. However, it didn’t take long for that to be rectified as the House of Black’s Brody King attacked Allin and told him he accepted meaning he will take on Darby Allin on October 12th.
