Darby Allin Warned By AEW Legend

A legendary figure in AEW is warning Darby Allin about some of the dangerous things he does in a wrestling ring.

Darby Allin is one of the most popular wrestlers in AEW’s six-year history. The daredevil is known for putting his body on the line to entertain the fans in any way that he can.

Whether he’s bringing a blowtorch to the ring, diving through, or going back first through a coffin lid, Darby Allin does it all in the name of entertainment. Unfortunately for Allin, he weighs well below 200 pounds, and all those crazy bumps are going to take a toll on his body.

After losing his first match in the Continental Classic tournament, AEW management removed Darby Allin from the rest of the tournament due to how injured he was. Allin claims he is fine, but AEW wants to save him from doing more damage to his body. Allin was replaced in the tournament by “Jungle” Jack Perry.

During a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, WWE Hall of Famer and legendary AEW announcer Jim Ross spoke about Allin taking dangerous bumps in matches. JR’s co-host mentioned Mick Foley as another wrestling daredevil from the past, and JR said that Mick was one, but there were others, too.

“Yeah. And he wasn’t the only one. Guys try to one-up their brethren, their peers, steal the show, blah, blah, blah. Whatever cliché you want to utilize. But yeah, sometimes guys… it’s almost like a panic button — I gotta get noticed, I want to be a star, so I need to do this.

And Darby is fearless. I love Darby, and for those fans that don’t know him, they would never know what a sweetheart of a guy he is.”

Jim Ross Worries About Darby Allin

The legendary JR went on to say more about Allin as if he was warning the young man to take it easy out there.

“I worry about him all the time because he never goes into a match without high expectations and willing to take a chance.

And some of these days, you know, your luck’s going to run out. Because he does things… if you miss it by an inch or two, you’re in trouble. And sometimes he dodges the bullet. Sometimes he doesn’t.”

There’s no official word on when Darby Allin may return to the AEW ring.
