Darby Allin Addresses If He Could Go Heel In AEW

Darby Allin AEW

Darby Allin has commented on the possibility of a heel run in AEW.

In the six years since AEW has existed, Darby Allin has been consistently cheered by the fans as one of the biggest babyfaces in the company.

Considering that Allin is a daredevil who weighs about 170 pounds and puts his body on the line to entertain the fans, it’s easy to see why they love the former TNT Champion.

At AEW WrestleDream, Darby Allin won the main event of the show when he beat Jon Moxley in an I Quit Match thanks to his legendary former tag team partner, Sting, taking out Moxley’s Death Riders group.

The pro wrestling business is a unique world where it seems like every wrestler, man or woman, has a run as a heel and a face, and some of them have multiple runs in those roles depending on how long their careers.

Darby Allin Knows What Kind Of Heel He Would Be

In an interview with the Maggie and Perloff show, Darby Allin didn’t seem to dismiss the idea of a heel turn.

“You know, honestly, it’s just wherever the wind takes me, and I feel a lot of fans, they’re always like, ‘Darby! You don’t have to go crazy anymore to impress us.’ I’m like, ‘I’m not doing it for you. I’m doing it for me.’ I actually love going out there and jumping off ladders or whatever it is I get myself into.

But I also on the flip side, I do see how fast the fans forget about you. I do see how quick they move on. Say if you got an injury or something, they’re, alright, what’s the next shiny toy?

So in that sense, I could see being a heel and just straight up being like, you are so ungrateful for what it is that we do. But at the end of the day, I don’t do it for them so I feel like you can’t get mad at them for that. But, who knows? Wherever the wind takes young Darby Allin. Maybe I will go rogue.”

Darby Allin has also stated in the past that he doesn’t feel he needs the AEW World Title, despite being one of the top stars in the company.
