Darby Allin Blasts Current AEW Champion For Being An Idiot

Darby Allin

Darby Allin has his sights set on a current AEW Champion who he feels has “been rewarded for bad behavior.”

When AEW launched in 2019, Darby Allin wasn’t really known to the worldwide pro wrestling audience. In the five years since then, Allin has cemented himself as one of the most popular wrestlers in the company.

During his AEW career so far, Allin has been a main event performer who has held the TNT Championship twice and has also been an AEW Tag Team Champion with Sting.

While Allin has been sidelined this year due to multiple injuries, he is healthy again and focused on winning gold again. This past week after picking up a win on AEW Collision, Darby Allin did a promo where he made it clear that he was coming for the current TNT Champion Jack Perry of The Elite.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Allin spoke about the injuries he has been dealing with this year.

“It’s been such a wild ride. I broke my foot [during a match on Dynamite in March], I got hit by a bus, I broke my nose, and then got super kicked in the nose. That caused my nose to open up like a faucet. There were thumbtacks superglued in my lip. Trying to explain that to my doctor was hilarious.”

Darby Allin Thinks Jack Perry Is Entitled

As the discussion continued, Allin made his feelings known about the TNT Champion Perry, who he called “entitled” and an “idiot” among other things.

“It’s pretty cool to see what Jack is doing now. Everyone always says a pro wrestler is at their best when they’re themselves turned up to ten. In real life, he’s an idiot. He’s entitled. So he’s getting to be his real self. I feel like he’s been rewarded for bad behavior. I don’t care for him.”

Some of that certainly could be a case of Allin just working as a pro wrestler, but it could also be how he really feels too.

Allin and Perry will be in the same AEW Blood & Guts match on July 24th in Nashville where the rivalry will likely pick up even more.
