Danny Burch Returns To NXT, Pat McAfee Calls Group “Dominant”

Former NXT Tag Team Champion Danny Burch returned from injury on Tuesday, reuniting with his former stablemates to lay a beating on Timothy Thatcher. It also meant bad news for Thatcher’s friend and tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa as well.

Burch has been off television since suffering a shoulder injury on the March 17th episode of NXT, during which he and Oney Lorcan successfully defended their Tag Team Championships. The pair would be forced to relinquish the titles, which were declared vacant until MSK defeated the Grizzled Young Veterans at NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver to become the reigning champions.

Ridge Holland, who recently returned from injury himself, gained a hard-hitting victory over ‘Toothless Timmy.’ After the match, Tomasso Ciampa entered the ring to check on his fallen partner and was grabbed by the former rugby player for his trouble. This led to a brawl where Ciampa and Thatcher fought Holland and Pete Dunne, who’d been ringside during the match. Eventually, Oney Lorcan came out with the returning Danny Burch, and the former champions attacked Ciampa, upping the numbers game and allowing Ridge Holland to take a lead pipe to Thatcher and leave him laying.

After the brutal attack, WWE provided an update on social media stating that Timothy Thatcher would be out of action indefinitely due to the injuries he sustained.

It’s not known yet how long Thatcher may be out, or if he has a legitimate injury that is the reason for him to be written out right now.

Current SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee, who was instrumental in forming the group he called Kings of NXT, took to social media to comment on Danny Burch’s return and the faction returning to full strength.

In an attempt to avenge his partner, Tomasso Ciampa is scheduled to face Ridge Holland on next week’s episode of NXT.
