Daniel Garcia Delighted By AEW Decision

Daniel Garcia AEW

Daniel Garcia had a big choice to make recently and now he’s revealed why he decided to stick with AEW rather than defect to WWE.

On the October 8th episode of Dynamite, Daniel Garcia announced that he’s staying with AEW. The news came after several months of speculation regarding his status which only intensified when Garcia disappeared from television after All Out, and just weeks before his old deal was set to expire.

During this period it was reported that AEW was losing confidence in keeping Garcia in the company. While it had also become something of an open secret that WWE has an interest in Daniel Garcia.

During a passionate promo on Dynamite, Garcia said he’s one of the best wrestlers in the world and it’s only right that he stay where the best wrestle. He went on to put every AEW champion on notice.

Daniel Garcia Claims Momentum With AEW

On Close Up with Renee Paquette, Garcia explained his decision to stay put in AEW and said he thinks the big names in the company can help improve the wrestling business forever:

I re-signed with AEW last week, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. I’m 26 years old, and it’s one of the biggest decisions I’ve had to make in my life. I think I made the right one. I wanted to let the fans know that AEW has a lot of momentum right now and the tag line, ‘Where the best wrestle.’ It’s the truth.

This is where the best in the world choose to be. (Kazuchika) Okada, (Will) Ospreay, Mercedes (Mone), me. All in one year. We’re putting our flag in. This is where we want to be. We have choices to go everywhere. Obviously, these people have choices to do whatever they want to do in this business.

We choose to be at AEW because we believe in it and because we think it’s something that can improve wrestling for hopefully forever.

Daniel Garcia currently has his sights set on Jack Perry’s TNT Championship and is also in league with Private Party to stop the Blackpool Combat Club’s extremely hostile takeover of AEW.
