Daniel Garcia Blasts Media Figures Who Hate On AEW

Daniel Garcia entrance AEW Dynamite

Daniel Garcia has no time for media figures hating on AEW.

In early October, Daniel Garcia finally pledged his allegiance to AEW on Dynamite after months of speculation about his future. It had become an open secret over the course of several months that WWE held an interest in the star, but he decided to remain All Elite.

It had also been reported that AEW was losing confidence in keeping hold of Garcia, but those worries proved to be unfounded.

Daniel Garcia later confirmed he’s signed a new contract, describing the moment as one of the biggest decisions of his life. The rumours around Garcia brought out the usual mud-slinging and tribalism among both WWE and AEW fanbases, and this even bled over into sections of the media.

Daniel Garcia Calls Out Sections Of Wrestling Media

During an interview with Raj Prashad for Uproxx, Garcia said that while there are positive influences in wrestling media, there are other figures who are using AEW to stay relevant. He added that he hopes he never goes down a similar path when he retires.

“I do think that there is a lot of positive influences in the wrestling world when it comes to wrestling media. I think Busted Open is a net positive for wrestling. But then there’s other podcasts with people who are clearly just looking for clicks.

Hating on AEW is a very popular thing and it gets people a lot of attention. And I feel like a lot of these things come from people who retired their jerseys. We never hung it in the rafters and we don’t even remember what their number was on their jerseys.

A lot of those people are trying to get a new career off hating on AEW and hating on people who are trying to be successful. And it’s just, it’s sad to see, I hope I never have to go through that when I’m older.”

Garcia was most recently in action on the October 23rd episode of Dynamite where he teamed with Private Party to defeat the Young Bucks and Jack Perry. However, he and his winning teammates ended the night being attacked by the new Blackpool Combat Club.
