Daniel Garcia On Appearing Alongside Westside Gunn On AEW Dynamite
Daniel Garcia will never forget this past Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
New Ring Of Honor Pure Champion and AEW star, Daniel Garcia recently talked to Pitchfork about a myriad of topics, perhaps most notably about having the chance to be accompanied to the ring by Buffalo, New York-born rapper, Westside Gunn for his ROH Pure Title match against Wheeler Yuta during the 9/7 episode of AEW Dynamite.
The New Pure Champion would claim that even taking his notable cannabis use into consideration, he’s never quite felt a high as he did, last week in his hometown:
“I don’t think I’ve ever been this high. Like I’m a stoner and I’ve never even been that high. Bro I’m still high. I can’t believe it still. It definitely felt like the most Buffalo thing ever. Buffalo is a city where everyone takes pride in everything. Buffalo could have the world’s fastest knitter, and we would ride for them like they were the world heavyweight champion of MMA.”
The Griselda co-founder would comment on the appearance, calling Garcia a true friend before delving into Garcia’s wealth of talent:
“Danny, man, that’s a good friend of mine, man. He’s a Buffalo kid, and he’s actually the best. He’s already being challenged by the best and can only go up from here. I think he’s gonna be a world champion soon. I’m all for DG, man, I’m team DG.”
As previously mentioned, Daniel Garcia would go on to defeat Wheeler Yuta during the main event of the 9/7 episode of AEW Dynamite, which would see him claim his first title in AEW/ROH, as the Buffalo-native became the Ring Of Honor Pure Champion.
