Dana White On Chance Of Ronda Rousey At UFC 300

Ronda Rousey dumps bag of cash

Dana White clarified whether Ronda Rousey will be part of UFC 300.

Before Ronda Rousey made the transition to sports entertainment, she was one of UFC’s top stars, winning the inaugural Women’s Bantamweight Championship and holding it for 1,074 days, the second-longest reign in the title’s history. She was also the first female inductee into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Rousey hasn’t fought in UFC since suffering back to back losses in the company after previously being undefeated. In November of 2015, she lost the Women’s Bantamweight Championship to Holly Holm in what was considered a shock upset. In December of 2016, she attempted to regain the title from Amanda Nunes, but was unsuccessful. Nunes currently holds the record as longest-reigning Women’s Bantamweight Champion, holding the belt for 1,981 days.

Speaking in a new interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Dana White addressed whether or not he believes Rousey will come out of retirement for UFC 300 next spring. White says Rousey has already accomplished everything she’s set out to do and there’s no chance she’ll be part of the event.

“There’s no shot. She’s accomplished everything she set out to do. Her dream was to win a UFC championship, then win a WWE championship, and she’s done it,” says White. “Now she’s starting a family. Ronda has made so much money, and she’s still making a lot of money in sponsorships.”

Despite White’s comments regarding the rumoured return, sources close to Rousey appear to indicate otherwise.

Is Ronda Rousey Still In WWE?

Ronda Rousey’s most recent match took place at SummerSlam in Detroit, MI, where she lost to longtime friend Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules Match. Ahead of the bout, it was reported that Rousey expected to finish up with WWE soon, and after the match took place, Rousey said she had “no reason to stay.”

Dave Meltzer reported that Rousey had indeed said farewell to WWE for the time being and is not expected back any time soon.
