Damian Priest Pushing For Major WWE Event

WWE Damian Priest

Damian Priest is applying pressure backstage.

At Backlash 2023, Damian Priest and Bad Bunny went to war in a wild Street Fight in front of their adoring Puerto Rican public.

On that famous night, the crowd created an atmosphere so electric it’s still fondly remembered by fans and wrestlers alike. To hammer that point home, when Zelina Vega challenged Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship earlier in the show, she was brought to tears before the match had even started.

Although she ultimately lost to Ripley, Vega remembers the night as one of the greatest of her career.

During an appearance on Good Karma Wrestling, Vega revealed that Priest has been pushing for WWE to return to Puerto Rico in the near future. The Women’s United States Champion went on to break down just how much it meant to her to perform at the event she described as “my WrestleMania.”

“Genuinely, I would love that. I would love it. I know Damian has been pushing for it too. So we’re really, really trying to get it together. But yeah, I just, I can’t wait. I know that there has to be another event in Puerto Rico. Like there just has to be.

Like that crowd was just, I’d like to say second to none because I’ve never felt like, you know, again, I talk about how The Rock says the most electrifying fans in sports and entertainment, but I didn’t know what that meant until that day.

Like that day was, that was my WrestleMania. That was like the craziest moment. Not just my wrestling career, but like one of my life. It’s crazy to have been a part of that. I just, I really hope, I really hope that there’s gonna be something, even if it’s just in the next year or so, I’d love to go back to Puerto Rico.”

Damian Priest Isn’t Done With Drew McIntyre

At WrestleMania 41, Drew McIntyre defeated Damian Priest in a violent Sin City Street Fight, and many thought the rivalry between the pair was now over. However, those fans couldn’t have been more wrong.

The duo has continued to cause chaos on SmackDown and even took their battle into a fight for the United States Championship. Although neither man was able to leave with the gold at Backlash.

It’s now been announced that McIntyre and Priest will meet one more time inside a Steel Cage Match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24. Elsewhere on the card, Jey Uso will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul, and John Cena is set to clash with R-Truth.
