Dakota Kai To Keep Fighting After WWE Exit

Dakota Kai WWE Raw Netflix red carpet

Dakota Kai has vowed to battle on after being released by WWE.

The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion was amongst a host of names let go by the company on 2nd May, with the likes of Braun Strowman and Shayna Baszler also shown the exit door.

It marks the second time that Kai has parted ways with WWE having previously been released in April 2022 before returning to the fold just three months later.

Despite suffering from a number of serious injuries during her second stint with the company, the Damage CTRL member was featured in a number of key television angles including reaching the finals of the tournament to crown the inaugural WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. The 36 year-old would ultimately lose out to Lyra Valkyria in the final, which was held on the 13th January edition of Raw.

The Auckland, New Zealand-born star is now looking to the future and took to social media to release an emotional statement following her release:

“Trying to get through all the messages and man, whether it’s from friends, family, colleagues, coaches, you guys… I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. That’s the stuff that matters. I got to make memories, create the best friendships and travel the world. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunities.

Gonna take a little time but just know… we are far from done. I’ve BEEN ready. Let’s go.

WWE Star Released Due To High Salary

Whilst WWE releases are often driven by a lack of creative plans for a Superstar, one recently departed top name appears to have been let go due to salary demands.

Reports are suggesting that the decision to release former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman are financially driven, with company bosses seemingly believing that the 41 year old’s contract did not offer value for money.
