Current WWE Champion Wants To Make TNA Return
A current WWE champion wants to make a one-off return to TNA.
WWE’s once-unthinkable relationship with TNA has opened up a whole host of new opportunities and potential matches. This includes the opportunity for former TNA stars under WWE contract to return to their former wrestling home.
Before signing with WWE, Zelina Vega spent two years with TNA between 2011 and 2013, where she wrestled under the name Rosita. Although she never captured singles gold, Vega did win the Knockouts Tag Team Championship.
During a new interview with WrestleStar, Vega discussed WWE’s relationship with TNA, and admitted she’d be open to making a one-off return.
“I am [open to a one-off return]. I think, my gosh, it would even be really dope to do it with the United States Championship? I mean, you know, I think that’d be super cool. And it’s never been done before. I mean, my God, there was for the longest time it was like, you know, if you’re in TNA, if you’re in WWE, it’s WWE.
But now it’s like, there’s just, just this influx of talent that you get from AAA, from TNA, like, everywhere. And it’s just so cool that we get to have these matches. And a lot of the time, you know, people would think, ‘Oh, maybe that match will never happen, or maybe we’ll never see that kind of a match.’ But now it’s like the sky’s the limit.
So I would absolutely do it, and I would love to do it with the United States Championship, for sure.”
TNA Legend Won’t Wrestle In WWE
During a recent interview, TNA legend and former World Champion Abyss confirmed that he’s officially retired.
It’s been announced that Abyss would be part of the WWE 2K25 Dunk & Destruction DLC pack. This sparked rumours that the star could not only return to the ring, but might do so with WWE.
However, the man himself later revealed that he has no desire to get back in the ring, adding that he’s content to continue as a WWE producer, a role he’s held since 2019. Abyss hasn’t wrestled since April 2019.
