Current WWE Champion Busted Open On SmackDown

Ever since winning the WWE United States Championship, Ilja Dragunov has had an amazing run with the title. His reign has been filled with marquee matches via his open challenges.

He had a gruesome match with Tommaso Ciampa last week, and the two men gave it their all as the Mad Dragon came away with a win. However, DIY attacked him after the match, which led to Carmelo Hayes coming to his rescue, leading to a match between them for tonight.

The two teams wrestled another hard-hitting match, which busted open Dragunov once again, after he suffered a similar fate last week as well.

The two teams wrestled an incredibly gruesome match, which pushed both sides to their limit, but Hayes and Dragunov managed to walk away with the win over DIY.

However, during their match, Dragunov was pushed off the ring apron and went headfirst into the announce desk, which busted his head open. The US champion finished the match with a sizeable cut on his face but managed to get his team to a win.
