Crown Jewel Main Event Set; Roman Reigns’ Opponent Confirmed
Roman Reigns will face a new challenger at Crown Jewel.
Before WWE heads to Chicago for Survivor Series, the sports entertainment giant will make a stop in Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel on November 4th. At present only two matches have been announced with Seth Rollins and Rhea Ripley set to defend their respective World Titles.
However, it seems that more announcements could be on the way very soon.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Roman Reigns will be putting his Undisputed Universal Title on the line against LA Knight. The match will also serve as the main event.
Reigns and Knight came face to face on the October 13th episode of SmackDown.
“While it is not announced at press time, it has been confirmed and will likely be announced this week that Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight will be he main event for the Universal title at the 11/4 Crown Jewel show. They already shot the angle on the 10/13 Smackdown show in Tulsa and it’s just a question of when the match will be announced.”
Roman Reigns Remains On Collision Course With Cody Rhodes
Shortly after Cody Rhodes’ defeat to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, it was reported the would do it all again in 2024. Despite this, the match seemed in jeopardy in recent months with Dwayne Johnson seemingly in the running to face Reigns.
A match between the real-life cousins has been rumoured for years, and Johnson actually agreed to face Reigns at WrestleMania 39 before plans changed.
However, it’s since been claimed there are “no plans” for Johnson and Reigns to meet at WrestleMania 40.
