Corey Graves’ On-Screen WWE Return Confirmed
Corey Graves will be back on television very soon.
On January 13th, Corey Graves publicly called out WWE for dropping him from SmackDown. After appearing on the blue brand on January 3rd, Graves appeared on NXT four days later but was missing from SmackDown just days later.
In the rant, Graves said he was no longer famous enough to do his own job, seemingly in response to Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett becoming the commentary team on SmackDown with Michael Cole and Pat McAfee being installed on Raw.
Despite saying he had “a lot to say,” ahead of the January 14th edition of NXT, Graves missed the show, and wasn’t on the following episode of Raw despite Pat McAfee’s absence.
Corey Graves To Return
After Raw, it was noted that Graves’ absence was set to continue and he wouldn’t be involved in NXT on January 21st. However, it seems that won’t be the case.
As reported by Fightful Select, Graves is listed for commentary for the show and is expected at the Performance Center for rehearsals. The report also disputed claims that the commentator has hinted to those around him that the controversy is a work.
This is in response to an earlier update where a backstage WWE figure said Corey Graves’ frustration was a “total shoot,” but suggested he’d been telling people it was for a storyline.
Graves joined WWE in 2011 as a wrestler but was forced to retire just three years later due to concussion-related issues. It’s believed the star has around two years to run on his current contract.
