Corey Graves “Having More Fun” Calling Raw

Corey Graves

Corey Graves has admitted that following recent changes in WWE he’s having more fun calling Raw as the surprises keep on coming.

WWE is going through its biggest transition period in decades following the shock retirement of long-time CEO Vince McMahon amid allegations of serious sexual misconduct and hush money payments.

With McMahon gone, Triple H is the man now in charge of the creative direction of the company and is quickly making his own mark.

Since Triple H has been in charge Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Dexter Lumis, and Hit Row have all returned to the company after previously being released. Bayley has returned to WWE television after over a year out with an injury and she has been joined by Kai and IYO SKY [formerly Io Shirai] who was previously thought to be on her way out of WWE herself.

With all these surprises so far, and more surely to come, there is a buzz surrounding WWE, and it’s not just being felt by the fans. Speaking on his After The Bell podcast, Raw announcer Corey Graves explained why he’s having more fun now calling the action on WWE’s red brand:

“I love the cliff-hangers, the elements of surprise, you gotta keep people guessing.”

“Not everything needs to be a surprise, because not everything is going to captivate you in that way, But right now, in the past few weeks, I am having more fun calling Monday Night Raw because I loved being surprised.”

“I prefer not to have any clue as to what’s happening on the show. I get to react, I get to be a fan, I get to play the role of a super knowledgeable wrestling fan, rather than snarky bad guy announcer.”
