Controversial Star Eyeing Match With Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair is a star in demand.

The official confirmation of a multi-year working relationship between TNA Wrestling and WWE has thrown up a very interesting possibility, especially with a controversial star now back in the TNA mix.

In December 2024, Tessa Blanchard returned to TNA before beating the WWE-bound Jordynne Grace at Genesis on January 19th. Since returning, Blanchard has been featured in a high-profile position, with fans wondering whether she could show up in NXT or WWE as she looks to move on from her controversial past.

Should Blanchard appear in WWE, she would have a readymade story for a match with Charlotte Flair as both women are the daughters of founding members of the fabled Four Horsemen.

During an interview on the DeLoco Podcast, Blanchard was asked about a potential match with Flair, but she’s giving little away.

“[Laughs] hey, I never say no. The Tessa Blanchard from back then, who wasn’t afraid of any man, any woman, big, small, tall, short, whatever, I don’t back down from any challenge. So hey, if you put it there, I’m gonna seize every opportunity.”

Continuing on, Blanchard heaped praise on the TNA women’s division, which she claims is filled with “so much talent.”

“Right now, I think that with TNA being a completely different company, it’s filled with so much talent, especially with this partnership with WWE that was just announced, I think the possibilities are endless. There’s not just one person I want to face, there’s multiple people I’d like to face. I’ve been watching the girls in the locker room, and everyone goes out there and kills it.

Every match on a card outdoes the match before it, and everyone, from the guys to the girls, I’m becoming familiar now with people that I wasn’t familiar with their work. There’s so much new talent on the scene, and with this partnership, it’s like the possibilities are endless.

You could see someone from TNA pop up on Monday Night Raw, or you could have someone from SmackDown pop up on a Thursday IMPACT live. You don’t know what to expect.”

During the same interview, Tessa Blanchard explained why she’d love to face the “phenomenal” Rhea Ripley.

Charlotte Flair Close To WWE Comeback

On the January 24th edition of SmackDown, it was announced that Flair would be taking part in the Women’s Royal Rumble match on February 1st. In recent weeks, vignettes have begun to air hyping Flair’s comeback, while the star herself has steadily been dropping hints on social media.

The former Women’s Champion has been out of action since suffering a major knee injury in a match against Asuka in December 2023. Flair has been training with several current and former NXT stars as she prepares to get back in the ring.
