Controversial Finish Crowns New Champion On WWE NXT

WWE NXT logo over blurred North American Title

Tonight’s show is set to have huge implications in the title picture in NXT as a huge title match kicked off tonight’s edition of WWE NXT live from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

While Blake Monroe defended her NXT Women’s North American Championship against Thea Hail, the number one contender for the NXT Championship will also be decided in the main event tonight.

Thea Hail earned a shot at the Women’s North American Championship as she managed to tap Monroe out last week during her open challenge but the match was never officially started. It was later made official for this week by the General Manage, Ava.

Thea Hail wins the NXT Women’s North American Championship

The champion started the match on the front foot and dominated the early stages of the match. She targeted Thea’s left arm and proceeded to inflict damage on the arm, which allowed her to remain in control.

Thea Hail managed to dig deep and recover from the beating that Moroe issued on her. She used the momentum in her favour and hit her with a Springboard Senton to pin Monroe for the title.

However, it seemed that Monroe had kicked out just before the referee hit the three count but he went for the bell and crowned Thea Hail the new NXT Women’s North American Champion. The controversial finish left everyone from the competitors and the commentators confused but Thea Hail was crowned the champion.
