Controversial Ex-WWE Star Allegedly “Misunderstood” Like CM Punk

CM Punk has been in the pro-wrestling industry for decades now, and he has worked hard to be where he is today.

Since his return to WWE in 2023, he has been thriving. He proved himself to be a different person and currently holds the World Heavyweight Championship.

At some point, he was misunderstood by WWE management, leading to their relationship not working out.

Matt Riddle supposedly misunderstood like CM Punk

Bruce Prichard spoke on Something to Wrestle, and he spoke about former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle. He claimed that Riddle had something in common with CM Punk, and it was that both of them were misunderstood at first. He spent some time with Matt Riddle and started to figure him out.

I actually compared him a lot to CM Punk in terms of being misunderstood and people not really getting who Matt Riddle was. I didn’t get the whole ‘bro’ thing at first. But after talking to him, I got it.

Look, from meeting Matt Riddle—Matt was one of those guys that I think people really didn’t understand. I sat at the pool one night with him, drank a bunch of beers, and just talked. That’s when I started to figure him out.

Back in September 2025, Riddle took a shot at CM Punk and called him a creep.
