Contract Details For The Hardys In TNA Revealed
The Hardys tag team known as Matt & Jeff Hardy will be sticking around TNA Wrestling as new details emerge about their contract.
When pro wrestling fans think about the best tag teams of this era, the names of Matt & Jeff Hardy immediately come to mind. The brothers have been teaming together for nearly 30 years and have won multiple Tag Team Titles in WWE, TNA, ROH, and nearly everywhere they’ve been. They are no doubt WWE Hall of Famers one day.
It has been announced that The Hardys have signed new deals with TNA Wrestling.
TNA Wrestling confirmed today that it has re-signed Jeff & Matt Hardy, aka, The Hardys – the reigning TNA World Tag Team Champions, as first reported by Sports Illustrated.
Brothers Jeff & Matt Hardy have been wrestling professionally since 1993, holding countless championships over the decades. In fact, WWE named The Hardys as one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history. Jeff and Matt are the only team to have held the WWE/World, WCW, TNA, ROH, Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Revolutionary and fearless, Jeff and Matt are known for their energetic, high-risk approach to pro wrestling. In 2003, Jeff & Matt co-wrote an autobiographical book of memoirs; their book was a New York Times best-seller.
The Hardys won their third TNA World Tag Team Championship in October, defeating previous champions The System (Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers) and ABC (Ace Austin and Chris Bey) at Bound for Glory in a Full Metal Mayhem match.
In addition to their success as a team, Jeff Hardy has been TNA World Champion three times for a combined 249 days and Matt Hardy is a two-time former TNA World Champion.
How Long Are The Hardys Staying In TNA?
While some wrestling fans might be hoping that The Hardys return to WWE some day soon for a final run in the company where they had their greatest success, that return may have to wait.
Fightful Select reports that Matt & Jeff Hardy signed one-year deals with TNA on November 27th. Matt returned to TNA in May after his AEW deal expired and Jeff returned soon after.
It was added by Fightful that even though The Hardys won the TNA Tag Team Titles at Bound for Glory, they were working on a verbal agreement. The new deal will allow The Hardys to work independent pro wrestling shows as well.
