Cody Rhodes Boasts About WWE Success While Reacting To Past Heel Antics
Cody Rhodes has commented on a TNA clip while also bragging about his success in WWE.
During the first decade of Cody Rhodes’ WWE career, until his 2016 departure, he was a heel for a significant portion of that run. Whether he was part of Legacy with Randy Orton or doing his own thing as a “Dashing” Intercontinental Champion, Cody had plenty of experience being a jerk.
Outside of WWE, Cody also embraced the heel life in other places. While Cody was in AEW as an EVP for three years, he was portrayed as a babyface throughout the entire run; however, he would occasionally receive boos from fans, especially towards the end of that run.
Since returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, Cody Rhodes has been firmly entrenched as a babyface and remains the top babyface in the company while receiving some of the loudest ovations of anybody on WWE television.
Cody Rhodes Is Proud Of Babyface Success In WWE
When he was in TNA/Impact Wrestling in between his two WWE runs, Cody did a promo as a jerk husband to his wife, Brandi Rhodes. A clip circulated on social media where Cody acted like a jerk to Brandi’s opponent and tried to pay her money not to have a match.
In response to the clip, Cody Rhodes commented that it wasn’t necessarily a great segment while also humble-bragging about how he was a part of the three biggest gates of all time as a top babyface in WWE.
people cite this clip and the me spitting one and assume it was far better than it was
3 biggest gates of all time didn’t happen with the jerk in this vid
It was a fun step on the journey though!

In the main event of WWE SmackDown this past Friday, Cody Rhodes wrestled Drew McIntyre while still in his dress clothes. After about five minutes, a frustrated Rhodes got a hold of the WWE Title and hit McIntyre with it for the disqualification. It could lead to a WWE Title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1st or perhaps Survivor Series four weeks later.
The rivalry between Rhodes and McIntyre is back on, even though Rhodes beat McIntyre in the event of Wrestlepalooza. When it comes to a guy like McIntyre, it’s rarely over until he moves on to something else and declares that it’s over.
