Cody Rhodes Compares WWE Hall Of Famer To Film Legend
Cody Rhodes thinks that a WWE Hall of Famer is Martin Scorsese-like in how he sees things.
As a 2-time WWE Champion who currently holds the title on the SmackDown brand, Cody Rhodes has seen it all and done it all as WWE’s biggest babyface over the last three years.
During his run for the WWE Championship and during his time as the champion, Cody has interacted with WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman many times. While there is a lot of respect between them, Heyman has been an adversary of Rhodes, rather than an ally.
Behind the scenes, it’s a different story because Heyman has been in pro wrestling for over 40 years and has a wealth of knowledge that he shares with the current WWE roster.
While speaking with actor Timothee Chalamet, Cody Rhodes praised Heyman on his What Do You Want To Talk About? podcast and compared him to legendary movie director Martin Scorsese.
“What (fans) will never see, he sits in the corner of Gorilla position. He has his own little spot. We call them super genuises. Like Scorsese in the film world. He’s a super genius. These are the things people don’t know.
When you talk about your segment for the night. ‘I feel like I should be smart for this. I should empty the pockets for this. I feel there is more.’ He doesn’t go with wrestling parallels. He’s not going to show you a clip of Jake Roberts or Rick Rude. He could, but what he does is ‘Check out this Gary Oldman clip. Check out Billy Bob Thornton.’ Those are where he likes to go.” (H/T Fightful)
