Cody Rhodes Won’t Turn Heel Until 1 Thing Happens In WWE
Cody Rhodes seems to be on his way to turning heel in WWE, but it seems at least one person thinks something important must happen before that does.
Cody Rhodes will challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, but the fan reaction on the road to that match is what’s grabbing the headlines.
For the first time since his return to WWE in 2022, fans are starting to grow vocal against Rhodes, while the one-time most hated man in WWE, John Cena, is now garnering cheers despite the fact he’s now supposed to be the bad guy.
With it seemingly inevitable that Rhodes will turn heel in WWE – something that he was infamously opposed to happening in AEW – it seems the company might need to make sure they have a suitable replacement as the top good guy on hand.
WWE Needs Top Babyface For Cody Rhodes To Turn Heel
Speaking on Notsam Wrestling, WWE broadcaster Sam Roberts explained the one thing he thinks needs to happen before Cody Rhodes can make a fully fledged turn to the dark side:
I don’t think Cody becomes a true heel until a stronger babyface than Cody Rhodes comes up. I think that Cody is giving permission for the audience to be split on this. But if the audience is split on this and Cody shows a little bit more edge, and then people start cheering for Cody again, then I think that’s fine. I think that the true turn comes when the audience completely chooses somebody else.
