Cody Rhodes Won’t Forget Memorable WWE Moment
Cody Rhodes is grateful for having a memorable moment in a WWE ring recently.
At WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, Cody Rhodes will have his hands full as he defends the Undisputed WWE Championship against John Cena, who is going for a record-breaking 17th WWE World Title.
The story between Cody and Cena has become personal because Cena has blasted the fans for not appreciating him throughout his career, which is why Cena turned heel on Cody at Elimination Chamber. Cody, meanwhile, is making sure to show love to the WWE Universe that has been by his side for the past three years as the top babyface in the company.
Cody has also talked about how Cena has been a role model for him in WWE and another one of those role models is Randy Orton.
During the opening segment of WWE SmackDown in London, Cody Rhodes was joined in the ring by Randy Orton, who spoke from the heart to the WWE Champion. Orton said he remembered Cody in his early 20s breaking into the business and he was working as hard as anybody else. Orton said Cody was frustrated, he knew he needed to grow and he couldn’t grow in a WWE locker room, so Cody left.
Orton said that it took some “big ass balls” to leave this company and do what Cody did. Orton said that Cody changed the business single-handedly and the boys and girls in the locker room appreciate him for that. Orton said that they also knew he would be back and the industry has been changed ever since Cody stepped foot back in WWE three years ago.
It was obvious from watching that Rhodes was affected by this because he looked like he was about to cry with emotion.
As he continued, Orton brought up Cody facing Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell in 2022. Orton said that Cody started the match with a partially torn pec, finished the match with a fully torn pec and he persevered. Orton said that Cody stuck it out for these people and he finished the match.
That led to Orton mentioning Cody going on to WrestleMania 40 where he beat Roman Reigns and finished his story. Orton said Cody is in charge of his legacy, and it’s a privilege to see Cody take control of his legacy. Orton talked about ticket sales, which have been up, and it is mostly because of Cody. Orton said that he respects Cody, he loves him, and he is very proud of Cody.
The Viper Orton said now it’s time for WrestleMania. Orton said he knows Cody will enter WrestleMania as champion, then he’ll beat the holy hell out of Cena on the Vegas strip and Orton mentioned that just like Cena is going after 17, Orton is going to go after 15 World Titles. Orton told Cody that he’ll look him eye and tell Cody that he’s coming for that WWE Title rather than do some cheap attack.
At that point, Drew McIntyre interrupted the promo, and it led to McIntyre having a match with Orton later in the show.
Cody Rhodes “Won’t Soon Forget” What Randy Orton Said To Him
The careers of Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes will forever be linked because it was in 2008 when Orton was an established main eventer who formed a stable called Legacy with Cody and Ted Dibiase Jr. in it. After about two years, it fell apart, but Cody and Ted became bigger stars because of their association with Orton, so it’s a trio that will be remembered forever.
In a post on X/Twitter, Cody Rhodes commented on his moment in the ring with his mentor Orton and said he won’t forget what Orton said.
Mania’ season moves so insanely fast – it’s postseason ball
And then moments like last night hit you
Meant everything, won’t soon forget
Randy Orton also confirmed that his WrestleMania 41 match with Kevin Owens will take place on Saturday, April 19th while the Cody Rhodes-John Cena match will main event WrestleMania 41 on Sunday, April 20th.
