R-Truth helped Cody Rhodes pin John Cena.

It looked like John Cena would get the better of Cody Rhodes yet again in the main event of Money In The Bank. But thanks to R-Truth’s surprising return, Rhodes was able to pin Cena. In the post-show Press Conference, the former WWE Champion addressed his accomplice’s presence on the show.

On June 1st, R-Truth confirmed his release from WWE through his social media handle. The announcement didn’t bode well with the WWE Universe, and they came out in support on social media and live TV shows. It looks like the company heard their cries and was able to quickly get R-Truth back on the roster.

When John Cena hit Cody Rhodes with the WWE Title, fans believed that the seventeen-time champion would pin the former WWE Champion. However, R-Truth’s surprising return turned the tables and allowed The American Nightmare to pin Cena. In the post-show Press Conference, Cody Rhodes told the media that the fans’ demands for R-Truth’s return are the reason WWE brought him back.

“The truth is, you guys wanted Truth. It’s always our job, everybody up here, everybody over here, Triple H, Nick Khan, it’s always our job to give you what you want, so thank you guys for letting us know.”

Why Did R-Truth Attack John Cena And Help Cody Rhodes?

At Saturday Night’s Main Event last month, R-Truth took on John Cena in a Non-title Match. The Last Real Champion won the bout after nailing his opponent on the head with the WWE Title. Later that night, Cody Rhodes returned to WWE and challenged Cena and Logan Paul to a Tag Team Match against him and Jey Uso at Money In The Bank.

At Money In The Bank, when Cena tried to get the win against Rhodes and Uso with the same tactic he used against Truth, the former 24/7 Champion got in the way. He attacked his “Childhood Hero” and let Rhodes capitalize to get the win.
