Cody Rhodes Takes WarGames Place From Injured WWE Star

Cody Rhodes

WarGames is coming to Survivor Series, and it seems WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has been drafted in as a replacement for an injured star.

The November 10th edition of Raw, WWE set up both men’s and women’s WarGames matches for Survivor Series. CM Punk was on the warpath after being sucker punched by Logan Paul on the prior week’s show. Punk was quickly encircled by The Vision’s Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker as well as Paul.

But help was on hand for the World Heavyweight Champion as Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes made the save to take out Bronson Reed.

Later, CM Punk drafted in William Regal – a man he once called a “stooge for Triple H” – who then announced WarGames was afoot.

But it seems Cody Rhodes’ involvement was never part of the plan.

Cody Rhodes Takes Jacob Fatu’s WarGames Place

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer claimed that Cody Rhodes has taken another WWE star’s place in WarGames:

I think Cody Rhodes is replacing Jacob Fatu, I don’t have that confirmed. He was not on the original list and Fatu was, I was thinking they’d probably have to replace Jacob Fatu.

The original team was Punk, Roman Reigns – I think Roman Reigns will show up in [Madison Square] Garden. I think Lesnar will show up in the Garden, Lesnar on the heel side, Roman on the babyface side. You still have one more spot for probably Jimmy Uso makes the most sense.

Jacob Fatu is currently out of action after undergoing dental surgery. The former US Champion was written off TV as the victim of a mysterious backstage attack.
