Cody Rhodes Set For Huge Title Defence At Saturday Night’s Main Event
Cody Rhodes has his next Undisputed WWE Title match lined up.
Kevin Owens has been on the warpath since attacking Cody Rhodes in the parking lot following Bad Blood, but things have now escalated to a whole new level.
The former World Champion has already dispatched Randy Orton via a Piledriver, and now he has his sights again set on Rhodes.
On the November 22nd episode of SmackDown, the pair came face to face, and unsurprisingly, sparks flew. Rhodes challenged Owens, saying the match could come that night, Survivor Series or Saturday Night’s Main Event. KO quickly agreed to the match but said it would happen on his terms.
During the explosive exchange, Owens broke down the reasons behind his recent actions, claiming everything was Rhodes’ fault after he teamed with Roman Reigns despite spending years fighting with him.
Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens Confirmed
In a post on social media, WWE announced that Rhodes and Owens will meet at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14th.
There had been speculation Gunther would defend the World Heavyweight Title against Damian Priest at the event, but that match has been announced for Survivor Series. It’s also been reported that Jesse Ventura will feature on the show given his ties with the specials going back to the 1980s.
Saturday Night’s Main Event launched in 1985 before being retired in 1993. It returned in 2006, but amid falling ratings and interest, was scrapped again in 2008.
