Cody Rhodes Teases WWE Exit

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes has grand plans.

At WrestleMania 41, Cody Rhodes will put the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against John Cena in a main event for the ages.

For Cena, the match represents a shot at history and a record-breaking 17th World Championship before he hangs up his boots at the end of 2025. Meanwhile, for Rhodes, victory would represent another significant name on his CV and the chance to get one over on the man who dominated WWE when he was trying to crawl to the top.

Cena hasn’t wrestled full-time for several years after following the likes of The Rock and Batista to Hollywood, and when he retires, that’s where his future will undoubtedly lie. But interestingly, it seems Rhodes also has one eye on the same dream.

Cody Rhodes Looking To The Future

During an appearance on the Pardon My Take Podcast, Rhodes was asked about his Hollywood ambitions and he hinted he might be the next man to leave wrestling behind.

“I’d love to get out there, there’s some fun projects coming up. I’d love to get out there and tell stories that way for sure and grow. I love pro wrestling, I always will. To get out there, I love what Rock has done, I love what John has done, and Dave Batista as well. All of them have gone different routes when approaching Hollywood and I think I might be next to join the fray in all that,”

After graduating high school, Rhodes moved to Los Angeles to train as an actor and attended the Howard Fine Acting School before eventually beginning his wrestling career in 2006.

The American Nightmare is set to star in the Naked Gun reboot which is due for release on August 1, 2025. He’s previously appeared in the TV series Arrow.

In 2024, Tiffany Stratton said she would like to move to Hollywood by the age of 30, giving her five more years to conquer the wrestling industry. For reference, The Rock was 28 when he filmed his first major movie, and his full-time wrestling career was over by his 31st birthday.
