Cody Rhodes Teases NXT Appearance
Cody Rhodes has his hands full on SmackDown with AJ Styles coming after his gold again but now he’s teased appearing on another WWE brand.
Cody Rhodes took to social media during NXT Battleground to tease an appearance on the brand as he referenced Ethan Page’s NXT Title match with Trick Williams on the show.

Cody Rhodes’ Old Friend Fails To Win WWE Gold
In the end, Ethan Page couldn’t get the job done in his WWE debut as Trick Williams retained his NXT Championship. Rhodes and Page had teamed together in 2017 and 2018 during Rhodes’ time on the independent scene in Alpha-1 Wrestling, the promotion Ethan Page founded.
NXT Battleground also saw a surprise appearance by a former WWE star who returned during the NXT Women’s Title match to stop Tatum Paxley from running off with Jordynne Grace’s TNA Knockouts Title. Grace took her title back but the distraction was enough to let Roxanne Perez ultimately defeat her.
There was one new champion crowned at Battleground, however, as one WWE star has become the inaugural champion of a brand new title.
