Cody Rhodes Could Finish The Story Before WrestleMania

Cody Rhodes

Could the end of the Cody Rhodes story finally be in sight?

From the moment that Cody Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38, he had one goal — win the WWE Championship. The title famously eluded his father the American Dream, and Rhodes is determined to make sure that history doesn’t repeat itself.

This led Rhodes to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, however, despite being the sentimental favorite, he was defeated. Following the loss, fans were assured that the story wasn’t over, and it’s repeatedly been reported that Rhodes will get his moment in the sun at WrestleMania 40.

Although the American Nightmare himself has claimed there isn’t really a timeline at all. Speaking to SHAK Wrestling at the launch of WWE 2K24, Rhodes said that while anything could happen, it would be sweeter if he finally got the big win at WrestleMania.

“I feel like it could happen before, it could happen after, but I think it’s all the sweeter if it was to happen at WrestleMania. Last year was about the title, the championship itself, and then the way the match unfolded and being, you know, this close to the moment. That made it now a far more personal situation, so I love it to be at WrestleMania. No doubt, you never know with WWE.

The flow here is quite wild, but I think the story that has been told throughout my whole career, the story that’s been told since the late 70s with my father and the WWWF championship, all of that, I don’t think anyone is looking to step in and hinder that in any ways, just because it’s been the leading story we’ve had, and it’s been a real story, and when it’s real, it’s the best.”
